Transportation Coordinator
We are hiring for a full-time Transportation Coordinator to join the Transportation Department at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

What you’ll do: The Transportation Coordinator administers facets of the transportation operation. Responsibilities include dispatching, Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance, preventive maintenance scheduling and routine administrative duties. This position provides support and direction, coordinating with managers to ensure partner and neighbor’s expectations are met, costs are controlled, equipment is well maintained and the appearance of our drivers, trucks and trailers meet standards. Key Responsibilities:
- • Dispatch drivers based on the needs of the organization, using Wise Systems software program.• Receives phone calls from Drivers, Partner Agencies, and 3PL carriers while maintaining a dock schedule.• Tracks Driver’s routes to ensure on time deliveries and pick-ups.• Reviews and arranges all transportation paperwork inclusive of driver paperwork, reports, and invoices.• Collaborate with Dispatch Supervisor and Director of Transportation to enhance load capacity and reduce empty miles.• Addresses driver safety concerns and policy infractions to Dispatch supervisor.• Ensures food safety compliance with all operational procedures inbound and out of the food bank.• Files reports for any physical and viral maintenance records, delivery delays, incidents and/or accidents.• Fosters open communication with drivers, Agency Relations Managers, staff members, agencies, and donors.• Collaborate with Dispatch Supervisor and Transportation Specialist to coordinate equipment maintenance, while using• the Samsara software program.• Transitions back in service company vehicle and equipment when returning from maintenance.• Complete a daily yard check.• Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
When & Where:
HOURS
- Monday – Friday, 5:00am – 4:30pm (Shifts will be during these this time).
- Occasional evenings and/or weekends may be required for meetings or special events.
- Occasional duties may be necessary, as well as responding to issues, outside of normal working hours (e.g., disaster response, community events, etc.).
TRAVEL
- Routine travel during the service area
- Current driver’s license with copy of current auto insurance and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) results required.

Is this you?
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: 1 + year of related experience and/or training
Skills & Capabilities:
- o Organize, coordinate, and direct projectso Strong oral and written communication abilitieso Microsoft Office and ability to operate office machineso Demonstrates knowledge of record keeping and reporting techniqueso Understand and follow rules, oral and written instructions, and regulations.
